The United States military has just been given the thumbs up to proceed with a mission right out of a James Bond movie.
There is a spy satellite that has failed to attain orbit, and for that matter, it never worked. Guess what? It is on a collision course with earth. Fearing mass casualties and toxic exposure from the full fuel tank on-board the satellite, the Pentagon announced today plans to “test” its missile defense system that has cost billions of dollars.
Now, like a scene out of “Armageddon,” the military will have one shot as the crashing satellite enters the atmosphere. Firing the missile from a Navy ship in the Pacific, all involved are hoping for a direct hit.
Let’s hope so…
