It’s about time Tiger started bringing his “A” game. After a series of less than stellar performances over the past couple of months, Woods played like a true professional Thursday at The Barclays and found himself at the top of the leader board. In his first tournament since the infamous divorce, Woods missed only two greens and one fairway in a round of 6-under 65.
Even though their marriage had problems, Elin Nordegren spoke highly of her ex’s golf career in an interview with People magazine. She said, “I know he is going to go down as the best golfer who ever lived, and rightfully so. I feel privileged to have witnessed a part of his golfing career.”
Nine months after the infidelity scandal rocked the nation, Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren divorced on Monday. The announcement was delivered through a press release from their lawyers following a hearing that was barely 10 minutes long. When asked to comment on Elin’s People interview, Tiger said, “I wish her the best in everything. You know, it’s a sad time in our lives. And we’re looking forward in our lives and how we can help our kids the best way we possibly can. And that’s the most important thing.” Tiger is now shifting his focus to golf, and judging by his results so far at the Ridgewood Country Club, he seems to be doing a good job.
Welcome back, Tiger—you’ve been missed!
