It’s that time again, it’s time for the 2010 US Open Tennis Championship! Starting today, and throughout the next two weeks, the tennis world will have their eyes on the US Open, which is being played at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Players must win 7 matches to walk away with the trophy and the title of 2010 US Open Champion.
This year’s US Open features 7 players who have played in the championship before, and 5 champions. Some of the headline players are, Venus Williams, Roger Federer, Andy Roddick, Melanie Oudin, Francesca Schiavone, Samantha Stosur, and Elena Dementieva.
If you can’t make it to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, you can still catch all of the action on your TV.
The opening round began at 11am today and was shown on the Tennis Channel. Throughout the event, The Tennis Channel, ESPN 2 and CBS will have live coverage of all the important matches. The Women’s final will be held at 8pm on Saturday September 11th, and the Men’s Final held on Sunday, Septemeber 12th at 4pm, both will be aired on CBS live.
Later this evening an overview of today’s action can be seen at 7pm on ESPN2, and 11pm on the Tennis Channel.
