Robert Rodriguez, the man who brought the world “Spy Kids” and “The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl” (starring a pre-”Twilight” Taylor Lautner, FYI) is going back to his bloody roots with “Machete,” opening this weekend.

According to Hollywood Wiretap, “Machete” is a “decidedly over-the-top and very non-politically correct action/comedy hybrid.”  The film stars grizzled badass Danny Trejo (who also happens to be Robert Rodriquez’s cousin) and a motley crue of unlikely stars, including Robert DeNiro, Steven Seagal and Jessica Alba. Raise your hand if you think that’s the oddest cast in the history of filmmaking.

Also starring in this campy film is everyone’s favorite outlaw, Linsday Lohan.  A mere 10 days out of rehab, Lilo is sure please with her portrayl of a drugged out party girl with daddy issues.

Hmm… They say life imitates art, but come on.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lohan “makes her entrance in the film passed out on a filthy matress in a drug den surrounded by gun-toting ruffians.  Rescued by her pop, she is dumped into a car and swivels her drugged-out face toward him to say, “Sorry, Daddy.”  They go on to reveal that “most of the rest of Lohan’s screen time is then spent naked… when she finally covers her body back up late in the movie, it’s to put on a nun’s habit and strafe a riot of knife-wielding Mexicans with a submachine gun.”

I wonder if Michael Lohan has already bought his ticket.

They’re saying the film is set to rake in at least $16 million over the long holiday weekend.

Will you be seeing “Machete” this weekend?

  1. First off I would like to say excellent blog! I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask if you don’t mind.
I was curious to know how you center yourself and
clear your mind prior to writing. I have had a tough time
clearing my thoughts in getting my thoughts out there. I truly do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are lost simply just trying to figure out how to begin.
Any recommendations or hints? Appreciate it!
