In the world of scary, freak accidents today, Mike Edwards, a founding member of ’70s band Electric Light Orchestra, aka ELO, was killed after a giant bale of hay tumbled down a hill and crashed into his van.  The gigantic, 1,323 pound hay bale rolled down a steep field in Devon, southern England, smashed through a hedge and careered on to the road, killing him instantly.

Mike Edwards lived in England and was in the band from 1972 – 1975, playing the cello.
