Ok, anyway. Remember Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart? Any man between the ages of 25-35 has to at least recall him teaming up with Bret “The Hitman” Heart in the 1980s and 1990s.
Part of the stock of wrestlers who included Hulk Hogan, Jimmy Snuka and Andre the Giant, Neidhart was as recognizable to any pre-teen and teen as many other athletes in his heyday.
And, like many wrestlers of yesteryore, he’s into some troubles… Hey, at least he’s not dead.
Just before 3 p.m. Sunday, Neidhart was pumping gas at the A.J. Food Market, 9806 Tom Folsom Road, Thonotosassa, when he began yelling and causing a disturbance, the sheriff’s office said.
The sheriff’s arrest report said he was seen opening pill bottles located in the trunk of his silver Pontiac Sunfire.
When deputies arrived at the scene, he was agitated and aggressive. He was observed “ingesting multiple pills that he dropped on the ground while inside the trunk of his vehicle,” the sheriff’s office arrest report states.
He was found in possession of 55.6 grams of Oxycontin and 17.4 grams of methadone. The prescription pills were in three bottles with the name Mary Cutillo written on the bottles, the sheriff’s office said. Via Tampa Bay Online
Yeah, the same “Mary Cutillo” whose house was recently robbed.
The cops put two and two together pretty quickly and our good friend Anvil is going to be spending some time behind bars, which is totally unfortunate because it seems like he was doing pretty well on the outside.
I wonder if I should feel guilty for all the money my parents gave to these guys in the 1980s in the way of toys and stuff. I mean, I must have financed at least a few vials of steroids.
Oh, the guilt.
