Yay! Let’s talk more about Tiger Woods, because I’m pretty sure there is a lack of his name in the news lately.

There was speculation that Woods would be left off the Ryder Cup team because, well, he hasn’t exactly done much since he came back from that whole “cheating profusely and without shame” on his wife, Elin Woods.  And since the law of  “how things should really be” says that people should be rewarded for things that they  have actually earned, Woods was in danger of not being on the cup team.

You see, there are many other Americans playing better than Woods this season who make a good case to be on the team ahead of him.

Alas, Ryder Cup Captain Corey Pavin made sure that we get to talk about Tiger even more.

Tiger Woods is going to the Ryder Cup as a captain’s pick with his 71 victories and 14 majors. So is 21-year-old Rickie Fowler, who has never won anything at all.

Corey Pavin made an obvious choice and a surprising one Tuesday morning at the New York Stock Exchange when he added Woods and Fowler, along with former major champions Zach Johnson and Stewart Cink, to an American team that will try to retain the cup.

The Ryder Cup is Oct. 1-3 at the Celtic Manor in Wales. The United States won two years ago at Valhalla, and will try to win for the first time overseas since 1993 at The Belfry. Via Sports Illustrated

Did anyone really think Tiger “Check Out My” Woods was going to be off the one international American golf team? Sure, he has played like crap, but I guess he’s still Tiger Woods.

Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if there were a few television executives whispering in Pavin’s ear. I’m not sayin’, I’m just sayin’.
