Pittsburgh Penguins’ golden boy Sidney Crosby apparently has the chops to not only hit a hot wrist shot into the net, but also a long ball out of the park.

The Penguins’ captain recently hit a ball out of PNC Park in Pittsburgh during what appeared to be some sort batting practice with the Pittsburgh Pirates, also known as AAA West Pennsylvania.

Sidney Crosby said he stopped playing baseball when he was about 13 years old, but the Pittsburgh Penguins’ captain showed off some skills at the plate Wednesday.

Crosby hit a home run as he and some of his teammates took part in batting practice at PNC Park. (A reporter guesstimated it traveled about 360 feet, so we figure Sid doesn’t need any tips from Maddux or Glavine.)

Maybe the Pittsburgh Pirates should sign him? Via ESPN

Considering the Pirates are 31.5 games out of first place in their division, they really couldn’t exactly LOSE anything by signing the hockey star to a quick contract.

I guarantee they would at least fill a few extra seats in a park that doubles as a modern day ruin.
