In any event, the Biebs is just one of many, including Lady Gaga, the Cast of the Jersey Shore, Florence and the Machine, Nicki Minaj and host Chelsea Handler who are set to make the 2010 version of the VMAs at the very least, looked forward to.
Oh, and some dude named Kanye West is showing up, too.
According to Us Weekly, West will appear alongside Jay-Z, Alicia Keys and Katy Perry for the 12 September event. Neither MTV nor the rapper’s spokespeople have confirmed the booking, but West has a lot to promote: a new single will be released in the next two weeks, followed by an “Avatar-level masterwork” in November. A “video painting” for his latest song, Power, debuted on MTV last week. Via Guardian
That should turn out not awkward.
Say what you will about MTV and it’s incessant Teen Mom and Jersey Shore programming blocks, the annual award show pulls in the stars and the ratings.
And while it may not be as rock centric as it once was, say, you know, back in the days when Pearl Jam was MTV relevant… but it’s still gonna be a great show.
