Get this man in a movie, stat!
Randy Quaid and his wife, Evi, were arrested Saturday on charges of felony burglary for living in their former California home illegally! Apparently they owned the Santa Barbara home many, many years ago, but, when the cops came after an alarm went off, claimed they still owned it. Unfortunately, Quaid’s acting job did not fool anyone.
The Quaids were then arrested on misdemeanor charges of felony residential burglary and entering a noncommercial building without consent. Evi Quaid was also charged with resisting arrest, according to the AP. Bail was set at $50,000 each (via AP).
The owner sent a Realtor to check in on the house and when he arrived, he found the place in disarray. There were dirty dishes, footprints and clothes everywhere. And in an effort to thwart the law, the Quaids had changed all the gate codes and fiddled with the security cams so they were facing up. First of all, don’t you think if they actually owned the home, they’d at least take their shoes off upon entering? Secondly, when have you heard of an actor shying away from a camera?
Randy Quaid has appeared in more than 90 films and is most well known for his role as the loser cousin ‘Eddie’ in National Lampoon’s Vacation. Maybe he’s reprising the role? Sadly, this isn’t the first time the couple has made headlines for being stupid.
Last year, Quaid and his wife were arrested for allegedly failing to pay a $10,000 bill for a hotel stay in a fancy schmancy hotel near Montecito. Word to the wise: if you’re low on cash, you might want to avoid staying in the same town Oprah calls home. Kinda pricey, no? Next time, try Oxnard. I hear it’s lovely this time of year.
