It is a sad day for Italy. Just five months after TV personality and actor Raimondo Vianello passed away, news of his wife’s passing has shocked the nation. It was announced today that former Italian film actress and TV host Sandra Mondaini passed away in Milan at the age of 79.
Having starred in 30 films between 1953 and 2008, Sandra Mondaini has made quite a name for herself. Between 1988 and 2007 she starred in the famous Italian sitcom, Casa Vianello, and was revered by the Italian public along with her husband. Together, they formed one of the most famous TV couples the nation has ever had.
Although Sandra Mondaini and Raimondo Vianello never had biological children together, they adopted two Filipino boys who were by Sandra’s bedside when she died. Prior to passing, she had been in the hospital for ten days.
