Actress Katherine Heigl made an appearance on the Late Show With David Letterman and showed Dave her smoke stick. What is a smoke stick, you ask? According to the company’s website, “A Smokestik® is a unique electronic cigarette simulation that helps you positively cope with this conditioned behavior. The device is a cylindrical metal rod that closely resembles the appearance of a cigarette.”
These devices help you quit smoking safely, and, instead of real smoke, they emit vaporized liquid glycerine, propylene glycol, and food grade flavorings and do not contain tar or carbon monoxide. They allow the users to go through the motions of smoking safely. Smoke sticks stay cool to the touch and because they are not actually lit; they don’t produce ashes. Each user is able to choose whether to add nicotine to the mouthpiece or not.
Katherine Heigl told David Letterman that she started smoking at age 25 and is desperately trying to quit. She even let him take a puff on her jewel-tipped Smokestik although he didn’t seem too impressed.
