Do you find yourself spending a ton of money each time you go grocery shopping? You’re not alone. Many Americans struggle with overspending and don’t know where to start when it comes to cutting costs.

The Economides family of seven from Arizona does not have this problem. They are experts on frugal feeding and are the self-proclaimed “cheapest family in America.” They have written a new book called Cut Your Grocery Bill in Half with America’s Cheapest Family aimed at the average American family who just can’t reel in spending. In it, you’ll learn how to change your lifestyle through money-saving tips that will leave you with a few extra bucks at the end of the week.

In addition to being best-selling authors, Annette and Steve Economides, married since 1982, are the parents of five children between the ages of 16 and 27. On a salary of $44,000 per year, they’ve managed to buy a home in the ritzy suburb of Scottsdale, Arizona, where they live debt free. The pair appeared on the Today Show Wednesday to speak about the book. Annette Economides told Matt Lauer, “We are the hope and change of America. With the unemployment rate where it is today, I believe that our books can allow families to not have to live on two incomes.”

Cut Your Grocery Bill in Half with America’s Cheapest Family seems to be a book many of us can learn from. Maybe it’s not so bad being called “cheap” after all.

  1. While a good book I’m sure, I bet their kids secretly hate them.
