Get ready for the latest in a string of horror movie remakes with I Spit On Your Grave, starring Sarah Butler.

Yep, that’s the title. And, unlike some horror movies, this movie may have something for women to cheer about.

Based on the 1978 movie Day Of The Woman (alternately titled I Spit On Your Grave), the remake enjoyed a limited release on October 8 and has been cultivating buzz ever since.

What’s the interest for? Well, the original movie, which I have seen, steered away from some of the horror movies coming out at the time by placing the bloodied up victim who is left to die in the role of the heroine as well.

Horror movies sometimes suffer from a lack of original story lines so when something new comes along, or back in this case, it definitely makes people step up and take notice.

Writer Jennifer Hills takes a retreat from the city to a charming cabin in the woods to start on her next book. But Jennifer’s presence in the small town attracts the attention of a few morally deprived locals who set out one night to teach this city girl a lesson. They break into her cabin to scare her. Yeah, let’s just say they do MUCH more than scare her. There is where many horror movies then move on, focusing on the male killer and everyone else he disposes of until he is ultimately caught or killed or thrown into a pit of fire or whatever.

In I Spit On Your Grave, however, Jennifer Hills gets pissed off and comes back after the men in a terrifying way.

Yeah, she takes care of business and has no regrets in doing so.

Without spoiling much, let’s just say that if you’re a lady and you’ve ever wanted some revenge, this might be the horror movie for you.
