Aching to blow your hard earned cash on a movie this weekend?

By now you’ve seen The Social Network or have at least tried so many times but it was always sold out so you just gave up and saw Secretariat instead.

Before you try again, take a look at the flicks opening in wide release this weekend… after the jump.

I’ve broken it down by emotion.

You’ll Laugh: Go see RED, starring Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman and Helen Mirren as former CIA operatives who have just become the Agency’s top targets.

You’ll Cry: Bring the hanky to Conviction starring Hilary Swank in the true story of a high school dropout who gets her law degree to represent her brother in a murder trial.

You’ll Throw Up In Your Mouth: Leave it to Jackass 3D as Johnny Knoxville and his merry band of prankers come back for another round of in-your-face, don’t-try-this-at-home stunts.

There are bunch of other odd movies opening this weekend that I’ve never heard of, but in case you want something a bit more artsy fartsy.

Opening in Limited Release:

Carlos – The epic true story of Ilich Ramirez Sanchez who, for two decades, was one of the most wanted terrorists on the planet.

Down Terrace – The patriarchs of a small crime family are released from prison only to find their business falling part from within.

Pure Country 2: The Gift - A young woman, blessed with a beautiful singing voice as a baby, must regain what she has lost in her climb to fame and fortune.

  1. Thanks for another fantastic post. Where else could anybody get that kind of info in such a perfect way of writing? I have a presentation next week, and I’m on the look for such information.
