Carrie Fisher, the actress who portrayed Princess Leia in the Star Wars films, admitted to trouble with cocaine and even did some on the Ice Planet, according to an interview with The Escapist.
Fisher said that she and some other actors, who weren’t named, partook in the party favor while shooting the film.
“We did cocaine on the set of Empire, in the ice planet,” Fisher told Australian newswire AAP. “I didn’t even like coke that much, it was just a case of getting on whatever train I needed to take to get high.”
Doing ice on the Ice Planet, nice touch. Well, I guess it would be easy to conceal your drug use while you were surround by tons of snow. When in Rome, I guess.
Fisher is currently traveling to various locations to perform a one-woman play called Wishful Drinking, based on her book of the same name. The book follows Fisher’s bouts with alcoholism and drug addiction. As with many successful movie stars, the popularity she found in Star Wars wasn’t enough to make her want to get clean.
Fisher said actor John Belushi was the one who made her see the error of her drug filled ways. Belushi eventually died of a drug overdose.
