Fans of the Discovery Channel show Storm Chasers were shocked to hear of Matt Hughes’ sudden death back in May. As a tribute to the beloved reality TV star who joined the show in 2009, Storm Chasers aired an episode last night entitled Dedication.
But how did Matt Hughes die? Contrary to what you might think, his death was not a result of chasing storms. Matt Hughes has been dealing with depression for many years and died from complications arising from a suicide attempt. Hughes was 30 years old and is survived by his wife, Kendra, and two sons, Hunter and Colin.
Matt Hughes is known for driving the Dog House vehicle which is always alongside the Tornado Intercept vehicle. Always engaging and driven, the Matt Hughes Storm Chaser death news came as a surprise to the storm chasing community. See how they are dealing with the news on the November 10th episode of the program. Also, if you’d like to donate, a memorial fund has been set up for Matt Hughes’ two sons.
