After slaving over the hot stove for hours on Thanksgiving, most women love the thrill of Black Friday. For years woman have rushed out in the millions to uncover the best deals and greatest presents for their loved ones (and a few for themselves). We got to take out our frustrations, burn some Thanksgiving calories and – most importantly – shop all day!

As with most things in this world, the Internet has stolen Black Friday’s thunder. Cyber Monday is the new trend sweeping the nation. Apparently more women would rather lounge around the day after Thanksgiving and complete their holiday shopping from their cozy couch than schlep through the crowds hoping that by the time they find a parking space and enter the mall, some of the good presents are still in stock. Well when you say it like that, it doesn’t sound all that bad!

The biggest benefit to Cyber Monday is that it doesn’t actually start on Monday. Major sites are already rolling out their big deals to those who want to finish their shopping early and avoid the major blow to their bank accounts. Amazon, Overstock, Best Buy, and Kohl’s are just some of the heavy hitters already offering great deals on staple from digital cameras to kid’s clothes.

Undoubtedly, there will still be crowds of eager shoppers on Black Friday waiting to experience the thrill of the hunt. But I am excited about the possibility of enjoying a nice relaxing day shopping from my couch (read: bed) in my pj’s!
