Back in September, we reported that 40 Year Old Virgin actor Shelley Malil got himself into a bit of trouble with the law for the attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend, Kendra Beebe. We learn now that he’s paying the price and is sentenced to life behind bars.

You may remember Shelley Malil, 45, as the electronics clerk in the 40 Year Old Virgin. Other than that, he’s kind of forgettable. And it’s a shame that he’ll be remembered as that has-been actor sentenced to life in prison instead of being known as an actor. But I guess he should have thought about that before he went crazy on Kendra Beebe. He said he found her with another man on that night in August 2008 and then went a little crazy. During his trial, Malil commented on that night:

I don’t know what it was, but someone was hitting me with something and all I had was this knife and I just went bananas with the thing.

He was found guilty of attempted premeditated murder and assault with a deadly weapon and it took the jury less than four hours in deliberations. As we know in America, life in prison doesn’t always mean LIFE in prison. Shelley Malil will be up for parole in 12 years although with a little good behavior, prosecutor Keith Watanabe said he could be out in nine years. Gotta love justice! But by then, no one will even remember his name.

Too bad Shelley Malil just became irrelevant.
