Just when you finished rationalizing the dead Arkansas birds mystery we reported yesterday, there’s a new report of hundreds of dead birds falling from the sky in Louisiana! As if we weren’t freaked out enough…
Get all the details about the second report of dead birds below.
Scientists are now thoroughly confused after 500 lifeless red-winged blackbirds were found littering a small stretch of road in Pointe Coupee, Louisiana just three days after thousands of dead birds were discovered 300 miles away in Beebe, Arkansas.
Wildlife experts are looking into various possibilities that would explain why the birds fell from the sky. Autopsies on the Arkansas birds showed they suffered internal injuries that formed blood clots leading to their deaths, reported The Associated Press. One likely explanation that US scientists believe has to do with New Year’s Eve fireworks. They say that fireworks may have caused the birds to fly lower than usual leading them to crash into objects such as buildings.
I’m no scientist and while that may be possible, it just doesn’t seem likely. And what about the Louisiana birds? There were no fireworks to blame there. Birds fly. That’s what they do. Not sure fireworks would cause that many to fly low and then all crash into buildings. It just doesn’t make sense…
This second report of dead birds has taken the word creepy to a whole new level and while there’s surely a rational explanation, many are looking at conspiracy theories for answers. Everything from a sign of the end of the word to proof of UFOs has been discussed by conspiracy theorists and while they probably don’t hold much truth, they are kinda fun to think about–in a creepy way.
If the dead birds mystery isn’t enough to make you say WTF, nearly 100,000 dead drum fish were found along a river about 100 miles west of Beebe. Wildlife officials say the incidents are not related.
This dead animals mystery is leaving many wondering: Are the dead birds an omen? Possibly symbolism or an indication of something to come?
Although I’m not jumping to any conclusions yet, I’ll tell you this: If any dead birds fall from the sky in New York City, I’ll officially be freaked out.
Stay tuned for more updates about the dead fish and birds being reported in Arkansas and beyond.
