Have you jumped on the tablet bandwagon? Pick up a nice iPad over the holidays? If you’re anti-iPad or just waiting to find the right tablet for you, you may be in luck. Motorola is launching the Motorola Xoom tablet in early 2011 and it might be exactly what you’ve been waiting for.

Get the specs on the Motorola Xoom!

The Motorola Xoom is expected to hit Verizon Wireless shelves during the first quarter of 2011. So for those of you with Christmas money to spend, you may want to hold off if a tablet is on your wish list!

What makes the Motorola Xoom cool? It runs on Honeycomb OS, which is an operating system just for tablets (not smartphones) and boasts a 10 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel HD display, 1GB of RAM and a 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core CPU. It’ll also have integrated 3G and WiFi capabilities, and tech experts say that during the second quarter of 2011, you’ll be able to upgrade to 4G. The battery life deserves a mention because unlike other tablets, Motorola says the Xoom will keep on going strong for ten hours while watching movies.

Is the whole tablet craze just a passing fad or are they here to stay? Do you really need a tablet? Maybe. Maybe not. But they are pretty frickin’ cool!
