In light of the unthinkable acts of hate that the Westboro Bapist Church is planning to attack mourners with at the funeral of 9-year-old Christina Greene, the little girl who was murdered in cold blood along with 5 others on Saturday in Arizona, the Arizona Legislature approved emergency legislation to stop these horrible people from causing more harm.
State Representative Kirk Adams, told local news KGUN 9:
The courts have long upheld that we DON’T have the right to dictate or prevent speech but we CAN regulate time, manner, and place.
And that’s exactly what they did.
In an effort to head off picketing by the awful, hateful Church at the funeral service for 9-year-old Christina Greene, members of “Angel Action” will be there to block their protest.
A rep from the organization told KGUN 9:
So this group of people come with really vile and ignorant and hate-filled signs and speech, and what we like to do is have our angel wings in groups of 8 to 10, excuse me groups of 30, with 8 to 10 foot wings blocking the signs completely so you can’t see them, they can’t affect the funeral attendees, they can’t affect the family.
She also added that the group is trained to keep their cool and maintain peace, no matter what is said during the protest.
Other anti- hate groups are planning to show up and protect the family in their time of mourning, too. There’s even a Facebook page called “Fight the Westboro Baptist Church in Tucson with Love.”
Clearly, the “church” thrives on getting a rise out of people through their hate-filled protests. Hopefully with the help of these angels, they wont have any fuel for their fire.
