Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are parents once again! But judging from the pics of the couple at the Golden Globe Awards the other night, it doesn’t look like Nicole Kidman gave birth a few short weeks ago. That’s because she didn’t! The couple used a surrogate.

TMZ reports that baby Faith Margaret Kidman Urban was born at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville on December 28, 2010. Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are Faith’s biological parents although a “gestational carrier” was used.
Not everyone is so happy with the couple for using a surrogate. On People‘s blog, a woman named Deirdre Poloti writes, “I hope this isn’t a Camille Grammer birth, where she didn’t want to mess up her body or busy schedule.” Others cite Kidman as lazy since she has given birth before and doesn’t appear to have medical issues. But when it comes down to it, whether you undergo IVF, adopt, use a surrogate or conceive naturally, the end result is the same–a child that wants to be loved. The means used to produce that child has no bearing on whether or not you’ll be a good parent. Who’s with me? Some people should get over themselves and just be happy for Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban.
The pair released a statement to TMZ:
Our family is truly blessed, and just so thankful, to have been given the gift of baby Faith Margaret. No words can adequately convey the incredible gratitude that we feel for everyone who was so supportive throughout this process, in particular our gestational carrier.
FYI, Kidman has one daughter with Urban named Sunday Rose who was born in July 2008. With her ex-husband Tom Cruise, Kidman adopted two children, Isabella and Connor.
