This is truly disturbing.
Imagine being awoken by your screaming baby only to run to him and discover that your pet ferret had been gnawing on his tiny little baby fingers, leaving the boy with two thumbs and a pinky?
Horrifying, right? Well, that’s what happened to a Missouri couple.
Keep reading for details.
According to the New York Daily News:
The ferret feasted on the sleeping 4-month-old’s hands after it crawled onto his baby seat about 2:30 a.m. on Jan. 10, authorities said. The boy’s father rushed into the living room when he heard the screams of his wife, who was sleeping near the baby. The dad grabbed the ferret and hurled it against a dishwasher, killing it instantly.
It’s utterly awful what happened to this innocent little boy, but questions still remain.
Like, how could the mother not hear her kid screaming if she was asleep in the same room? Why was the dad the one that found the baby? And, how long had the baby been crying? I imagine that once that ferret took its first nibble the kid would have woken up. It seems very odd.
Lastly, who would ever let a ferret around a baby? Just sayin’.
The little baby boy was treated at a local hospital and released four days later.
He’s definitely going to have challenges,” Grain Valley Police Chief Aaron Ambrose said. “Several of his fingers were chewed down past the second knuckle at least.
