In case you weren’t watching the game, here’s the scoop. Christina Aguilera started singing the National Anthem for a packed stadium and over 100 million television viewers. She sounded fantastic until every singer’s worst nightmare hit. The 30-year-old was supposed to sing, “O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming,” but instead opted to repeat and botch an earlier line, “What so proudly we watched at the twilight’s last reaming.”

But like a true professional, she carried on without missing a beat.

Here’s what the newly divorced singer had to say on the matter:

I got so caught up in the moment of the song that I lost my place. I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through.

Ah, not to worry Christina–this too shall pass! You sounded great!

In other news, The Black Eyed Peas rocked out during half time and Fergie even did a duet with Slash to Sweet Child Of Mine. Oh, and one singer who didn’t flub her lines was Glee‘s Lea Michele who kicked things off with America The Beautiful.
