There are different websites that can help you find out.

These are a few good sites to help uncover unclaimed money:

www.unclaimed.org
: Set up by The National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators and will tell you if there are lost insurance refunds, forgotten apartment security deposits, overtime checks, etc. in your name.

www.missingmoney.com
: Another good place to check. Free but commercially run. Make sure you check out each state you’ve lived in and search with your maiden name as well.

www.unclaimedretirementbenefits.com: For lost 401k funds and other retirement accounts.
