read on for more Rebecca Black suing her label news… after the jump!
Why not get entangled in a scandal, right? Life is moving in fast forward motion for Rebecca Black. It was only a few months ago that she woke up and thought… “Hmm, I want to make a music video.” Then a month passed quietly on Youtube before her song, “Friday” went viral and made her a household name. She has over 70 million hits, has bee a guest on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and was the April Fool’s Day joke on Funny or Die this year (Justin Bieber took that prize last year).
Yeah, things are moving fast. And now, word on the street is that the 13-year-old Internet singing sensation Rebecca Black is considering filing a lawsuit against the producers of her hit song Friday.
According to Perez Hilton: A letter from a lawyer on the behalf of Rebecca and her mother Georgina Marquez Kelly accuses the producers of copyright infringement and unlawful exploitation of her likeness and song on YouTube, iTunes, Amazon, and Ark’s website.
Ark Music founder Patrice Wilson defended himself, explaining:
I have met with Rebecca Black’s mom and everything is fine. She will get the masters and the song. They can have it all.
Black has signed with a new record label since then. You mean there’s gonna be another one?
