The Casey Anthony trial, which is this decade’s media circus (O.J. style), is getting underway but not without a few hiccups along the way. Judge Belvin Perry has dismissed not one, not two but 49 potential jurors in the case. Why?

Find out after the JUMP!

In case you don’t know much about the case, Casey Anthony is a 25-year-old Florida woman accused of murdering her own daughter, Caylee Anthony, in June 2008. If convicted, she could face the death penalty. In addition to murder, Anthony is also charged with aggravated child abuse, aggravated manslaughter of a child and providing false information to law enforcement. She maintains that Caylee was kidnapped by a babysitter and has pleaded not guilty.

Judge Perry dismissed 49 jurors today after learning they’d had previous conversations about Casey Anthony. But who hasn’t? This woman was splashed all over the news, so good luck finding jurors that live under rocks. The media has gone overboard covering the case, so jury selection is taking place in the Tampa Bay area. But maybe they should consider selecting a jury from a different continent…

And yeah, not to be mean, but let me point out that Casey Anthony is looking a little rough. Guess that’s what happens when you kill your own child and then deny it. The court of public opinion has already ruled.
