Are you a fan of The Biggest Loser? If so, you probably know that Jillian Michaels’ run on The Biggest Loser has come to an end, but you may not know that former tennis champ Anna Kournikova will be taking her spot.
The news was announced on last night’s season finale and although 29-year-old Anna Kournikova is not a personal trainer, Todd Lubin, executive producer of the show explained the choice to Vulture, “We intentionally tried to not replace Jillian.” He said that next season will be “getting slightly away from just the tape measure, and getting into overall well-being and health. That’s where Loser needs to go.” And after eleven seasons, maybe that’s exactly what the show needs.
If you’re a faithful viewer, you may remember that Anna Kournikova appeared on an episode last season in which she put the contestants through a grueling tennis workout. Is there more of that to come? Be afraid, contestants!
The other recent additions to the show, trainers Brett Hoebel and Cara Castronuova, will not be returning for the twelfth season.
What do you think of Anna Kournikova joining the team?
