Summer is already heating up and it’s not even June! The thermometer has topped the 90 degree mark in many areas of the country leaving thousands of us hot and miserable. If you’re not loving the heat, get yourself a portable air conditioner and enjoy summer–indoors. Well, at least until it cools off a bit…
Read on for tips on buying a portable air conditioner!
Nothing is worse than trying to put makeup on a face that’s sweating. Oh yes, there’s one thing. Sweating through your work clothes before you arrive at work. Who’s with me?? Let’s change that. If you’re not lucky to have central air conditioning where you live, there are still a lot of great portable air conditioner units on the market that will get the job done.
Gone are the days of unsightly window air conditioners. Sleek and energy efficient models lead the way and if you’re unsure of what to buy, CBS has a few tips to keep in mind while shopping:
–Know your needs. BTU’s count and if you buy an air conditioner that has too much power for your space, you may be throwing money out the window. Use Home Depot’s air conditioning calculator to determine your cooling needs before you make a purchase.
–Try a portable air conditioner. The unit stands by itself and although they’re a bit more expensive, they are worth it for the mobility aspect. Not only are they easier to install than bulky window units and more energy efficient, but they can do double duty–use the same unit at home and at work. The only downside is that a portable air conditioner is the size of a garbage can, but hey, staying cool is worth it!
