Shaquille O’Neal is one of the most well-known names in NBA history and even if you don’t follow basketball, you certainly know his name. Shaq is a true legend and after 19 years, he has officially announced his retirement from the NBA. And he’s only 39 years old!

Shaquille O’Neal, who stands 7’1″ tall and weighs in at 355 pounds, was the oldest active player in the NBA and has most recently played for the Boston Celtics. He is one of the funniest guys around according to his teammates and will be missed.

The former No. 1 overall draft pick of the Orlando Magic in 1992 center averaged 23.7 points and 10.9 rebounds in his career but played sparingly in his final season with the Boston Celtics. O’Neal was a 15-time All-Star, four-time NBA champion — three with the Lakers, one with Miami — and the 1999-2000 MVP. He is considered one of the most dominant players to have played the game.
