Google Doodle Wishes Lucille Ball Happy 100th Birthday

If Lucille Ball were still alive, she would have turned 100 today. In honor of the I Love Lucy star, Google has created a special doodle that’s an interactive ’50s TV set featuring some of the best clips of the classic show.

Lucille Ball was not only a talented actress who won four Emmys, but she was gorgeous as well with stunning red hair and a beautiful smile. As Lucy Ricardo on I Love Lucy, she was inspirational to many and charmed Americans from 1951 until 1957.

Today’s Lucille Ball 100th birthday Google doodle will take you back to the ’50′s just by clicking play and letting the classic scenes roll. You can’t help but laugh!

In addition to Google, LIFE magazine is also celebrating Lucille Ball’s centennial by unveiling a gallery of Ball photos that have never been released.The Hollywood Museum is getting in on the fun too with an exhibit running through November and the Library of Congress has just opened an exhibit called “I Love Lucy: An American Legend.”

‘She had one of the best lives ever,’ her daughter Lucie Arnaz told the AP. ‘She is one of the few people we can look at and say she left us something that can help.’

Lucille Ball passed away in Los Angeles in 1987 due to a heart problem at the age of 77.
