When it comes to classic films, Dirty Dancing is right up there with the best of ‘em. The 1987 film, starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, is baaaack in the form of a remake over 20 years later. But what does the leading lady think about the upcoming remake?

Read on for more!

Jennifer Grey played good girl Baby Houseman in the original and for now, there’s no word on who will take on the prized role in the remake. Who would make a good Baby?

The Wall Street Journal (via MovieWeb) talked to Jennifer Grey about the remake of the film that made her famous:

I’m so excited about this news and I think there’s nobody better to do this than my beloved Kenny Ortega, who is as responsible as anyone for the success of the first one. I can’t wait to see what he’s going to do with it.

Kenny Ortega, who directed High School Musical and who was also the dance choreographer for the original Dirty Dancing, will direct the remake. No offense to Jennifer Grey since I’m sure she’s genuinely “excited,” but hasn’t she ever heard the saying “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it??” Dirty Dancing was one of the most amazing love stories on film of all time and something tells me the remake won’t come close to the magic of the original. But we’ll see…

Look for it in theaters in 2013.
