Steve Jobs is a legend and one who will be sorely missed. Steve Jobs is a household name and no other person has made such an impact on technology and the way we use it. Even if you don’t know him personally, you know his creations. From iPads to iPods, Apple has transformed the way we live and work and that never would have been possible without Steve Jobs. But now the world has to go on without him.

Warning flags went up about Steve Jobs’ health after he stepped down from his post as CEO in August after taking multiple medical leaves over the years. He was said to have been suffering from pancreatic cancer.

Steve Jobs will always be remembered fondly by those who knew him and those who did not. On Apple’s homepage, visitors are greeted with a tribute to Steve Jobs that reads:

Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.

RIP Steve Jobs.
