Rob Lowe — best-selling author, funny man on Parks and Recreation and the actor in all those amazing ’80s movies — is in a new television movie on Lifetime. But he definitely won’t make us swoon in this role: Lowe plays Drew Peterson, an “untouchable” police officer whose fourth wife mysteriously disappears.
And who is she? It’s Kaley Cuoco of The Big Bang Theory playing the role of Stacy Cales, a woman who is half of Peterson’s age. But the most disturbing part of this strangely palpable movie is that it is all based on true story. And the real Drew Peterson actually thinks the trailer is hilarious.
The given summary is haunting, since the movie is based on the book by Joseph Hosey, Fatal Vows: The Tragic Wives of Sergeant Drew Peterson, published in 2008. But according to the Chicago Tribune, Drew Peterson himself thinks differently of the newly released trailer from Lifetime.
Criminal defense lawyer Joel Brodsky spoke to Drew Peterson on the phone this morning and played the trailer of the movie in which he is portrayed by Lowe, complete with a three-word catchphrase. Brodsky passed Peterson’s reaction to the trailer:
He laughed and said, ‘That’s hilarious.”
Peterson is currently awaiting trial for the murder of his third wife and under suspicion for the disappearance of his fourth.
Drew Peterson: Untouchable premieres on Lifetime on Tuesday, January 21st at 8 p.m. PST. Watch the trailer now on MyLifetime.com now! What do you think of Rob Lowe in his new role?
