Amidst court appearances and community service hours at the morgue, Lindsay Lohan finally found time to pose for Playboy. Plus, she was all set to give an exclusive preview of the photoshoot on The Ellen Degeneres Show before the magazine issue hit newsstands. However, the photos from the highly anticipated spread were leaked online; Hugh Hefner moved up the issue’s release date with the hopes of capitalizing on the leak — or at least to salvage the situation. Even more so, Lohan was vacationing in Hawaii to celebrate the birthday of her sister, Ali Lohan, and completely missed her scheduled promotional taping with Ellen Degeneres because she failed to board her plane back to Los Angeles.

So what does Hugh Hefner think of his latest covergirl, in the context of business and simply in general?

According to the Huffington Post, Lindsay Lohan’s posing price tag is rumored to be a million dollars. Some people anticipate that because of the leak, the issue will be its worst selling yet; others speculate that such photos leak all the time and that the magazine’s already falling circulation numbers won’t be directly affected by this.

Lindsay was supposed to go all nude for the magazine, but Hugh Hefner confirms that her mother and others persuaded her against it. He takes responsibility for the Marilyn Monroe-inspired idea:

The pictorial and the concept…came from me. And I said, ‘We’re doing a nude pictorial here. We’re going to do it in a very classy way and we’re going to do it in a way in which it will not be forgotten.’

When asked about his reaction to her recent run-ins with drugs, alcohol and the law, Hefner replied with confusion:

It really came as a surprise to me,” he said. “I kind of had mixed emotions about it initially…I wasn’t quite sure where she was at in her life, obviously. It depends on whether it’s Tuesday or Thursday.

Was Lindsay Lohan worth the investment?
