After the gifts have been opened and the turkey is eaten, there’s not a whole lot left to on Christmas Day but go to the movies. Luckily, this year you have a ton of pretty decent movies to pick from. Keep reading to see what new flicks are coming to a cineplex near you for the holidays!

Movies released on Christmas usually have a lot of award season buzz attached to them, but that doesn’t always mean they are good. Still, from the looks of the roster this year – paying for a ridiculously overpriced movie ticket shouldn’t be too bad.

Our picks:

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo – Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know all about this wild popular book turned movie. If you know nothing, know this: It’s definitely not a kids movie.

Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol – Tom Cruise is back and this flick is getting serious attention for being awesome! Such a rarity for a Cruise flick, I know. This one proves to be good time popcorn fun all around.

The Adventures of Tin Tin – Kinda creepy cartoon graphics – but it’s a Spielberg movie, so how can you go wrong?

War Horse – For those of you that can handle movies about animals without bawling your eyes out – then this is a flick for you. Again, it’s a Spielberg movie, so you know it will be good.
