Unlike Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez, not all Hollywood marriages have to end badly. Courteney Cox and David Arquette may be separated after eleven years of marriage, but they still remain partners in their production company, Coquette Productions. What does the Cougar Town actress have to say about working alongside her ex-husband?
“He’s my favorite person in the world,” Courteney Cox told People at the Cougar Town TCA party. “He’s my best friend. No matter what happens in our future, he’s my very best friend.”
Not only are they on amicable terms, but they’re also incredibly productive and have a few development projects in the works. The pair just sold a show called Ten Year and is supposed to be about a couple who separated after ten years of marriage. Sound familiar? Cox acknowledges the similarity in plot to their lives, but comments:
It’s not really about David and me, but it’s something we related to and we thought we should tell a story about people who could actually get along after being separated. It’s telling a different version.
David Arquette has been recovering after rehab for alcohol abuse and just competed on the most recent season of Dancing With The Stars. Courteney reveals that they just celebrated a milestone.
“[We went out to celebrate] David’s one year of sobriety,” Cox says. “He’s great. Good for him.”
Do you think you could ever remain friends with your ex-husband after ten years–let alone “best” friends? How about continuing to work as business partners?
