We reported earlier this month that actress Demi Moore has been struggling since her split from Ashton Kutcher. Though she filed for divorce from Kutcher in November, after nearly six years of marriage, she has been doing even worse than she led on. Moore was taken to the hospital on Monday night and has officially dropped out of the Linda Lovelace biopic, Lovelace. Why did she need to be transported to the hospital?
According to TMZ, a 9-1-1 call was made from Demi Moore’s home in Los Angeles about a reported substance abuse issue. Upon arrival, paramedics spent thirty minutes assessing the actress’ condition before transporting her to a nearby hospital.
Moore has dropped out of Lovelace, the biopic about the life of porn star Linda Lovelace. She would have made an appearance as women’s rights advocate Gloria Steinem in the film.
Why did she head to the hospital and drop out of the highly anticipated film project? Sources tell TMZ that Moore’s health problems are substance-abuse related, yet reps for Moore are clarifying that the actress will be seeking “further professional assistance” to help combat extreme fatigue. One of Moore’s representatives said in a statement to Moviefone:
Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health. She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends.
We hope Demi Moore gets better as soon as possible.
