Why should everyone’s favorite furry little rodent steal the thunder every February 2nd? There is a lot more happening in the world than waiting for Punxsutawney Phil to ruin everybody’s day by telling them they have six more weeks of winter.
It’s the same outcome every Groundhog’s Day. And isn’t that what weathermen are for?
Anyway, keep reading to find out what other famous people first saw their shadows on February 2nd… after the jump!
Here’s are some famous peeps with an all together unfortunate birthday. Bummer to have to share it with a rodent.
“Hips Don’t Lie” singer Shakira was born on Feb. 2 in 1977. But they don’t celebrate Groundhog’s Day in Colombia, so she’s set. Sadly, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver, born in 1975, has most likely been upstaged by P. Phil his whole life.
Then there’s model Christie Brinkley, born in 1954. Even a lady as hot as her cannot out shine a groundhog looking for his shadow.
The now deceased Farah Fawcett was also born on Groundhog’s Day. She he died of cancer in 2009.
Rounding out the list is a name hot in the tabloids – kidding. Sir James Joyce, Irish poet and novelist of really long books like Ulysses and Finnegan’s Wake, was born in 1875. Were groundhog’s even around back then?
