Summer Blockbuster Movie Season has officially started! Well, it technically started over Memorial Day weekend with the release of Will Smith’s annual summer flick – this time: Men In Black 3. But you could raise the argument that The Avengers was the movie that really kicked off summer – and made, like a bazillion bucks at the box office.

Still, the movies opening in wide release this weekend are nothing to sneeze at… unless you’re Sneezy, from The Seven Dwarves. You see where I’m going with this.

Keep reading to see which summer movies are opening this weekend… after the jump!

Snow White and The Huntsman

You’ve never seen Snow White this dark! Here’s a quickie synopsis of the soon to be blockbuster, starring Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron, and Chris Hemsworth.

Snow White is the only person in the land fairer than the evil queen, who is out to destroy her. But what the wicked ruler never imagined is that the young woman threatening her reign has been training in the art of war with the huntsman who was dispatched to kill her.

Piranha 3DD
I actually saw the the first one and it was campy and crude fun. This new version only amps up the brazen sexuality with a thinly veiled plot. 3DD? Really?

After the terror unleashed on Lake Victoria, the pre-historic school of blood thirsty piranhas are back. This time, no one is safe from the flesh eating fish as they sink their razor sharp teeth into the visitors of summer’s best attraction, The Big Wet Water Park. Christopher Lloyd reprises his role as the eccentric piranha expert with survivor Paul Scheer and a partially devoured Ving Rhames back for more fish frenzy. David Hasselhoff trades in the sandy beaches of “Baywatch” to be a celebrity lifeguard at the racy water park. Prepare for double the terror, double the action and double the Ds.

That’s it!

  4. OMG, this was a HORRIBLE movie! I COULD NOT wait for it to be over. What was with all the black and white? Horrible, direction and editing too. Where was Snow White’s true love? After all a Snow White movie SHOULD have some romance in it — especially when Thor is in it!!
