Now that he’s out of the woods, Trebek is getting further testing done in Los Angeles at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. No one yet knows the reason for the heart attack, but his reps further say that “he is expected to fully recover and return to host when the game show begins production on its new season in July.”
Even though, earlier this year, Trebek was contemplating his retirement as the longtime host of the popular game show.
Yes, I have been thinking of retiring. But I’m torn because I enjoy doing the show so much. A lot of people have been telling me — ‘Alex, you’ve got to go for at least 30. You’ve just done 28. Now at least do two more.’ So that has a nice ring to it. Put in your 30. And go help people. (via Fox News)
Let’s hope he makes a quick recovery and gets back on our TV screens soon!
Jeopardy! was renewed through 2014 two years ago.
Saturday also brought some good news for the show: It won won best game/audience participation show at the Daytime Emmys.
