Even though it’s pretty clear that we all love the lady gymnasts of the 2012 London Games, the world was watching Wednesday night as two US male gymnasts – Danell Leyva and John Orozco, fought to keep up with a Japanese tumbler and a whole lot of other super talented gymnasts from around the world.
Leyva managed to come out of the competition with a Bronze, but Orozco went home empty handed. Keep reading for more on Men’s Gymnastics at the London 2012 Olympics… after the jump!
Both Orozco and Leyva were struggling in the team all-arounds, and the boys from the US were beaten pretty badly, not scoring any kinds of medal. And Wednesday, it was better, but not great, especially for Orozco.
The Bronx born gymnast spoke of his troubled routine: “I felt really tired during the routine. I couldn’t feel my arms, everything was tightening up. I was praying to get off, and get some kind of dismount.
The score? A 12.566. And the end of his 2012 Olympic medal dreams.
Orozco went on to score well enough in his four more rotations, which moved him up 16 places from the very bottom.
