By now we all know that if you date and dump Taylor Swift, you’re going to get a song written about you. John Mayer learned the hard way, Taylor Lautner got one, too. So, who’s the lucky ex-boyfriend Swift is singing about on her new album?

The song is titled ‘Never Ever Getting Back Together,’ from upcoming her album ‘Red’, which is coming out on October 22. Swift fans are already speculating on who the guy could be. She already covered Lautner and Mayer on previous albums, so the country singer could be singing about Joe Jonas, or maybe Jake Gyllenhaal. She’s dated them both.
Swift didn’t give any hints on a visit to “Good Morning America” Tuesday morning, but she did clue fans in to how and why she wrote it:
This guy walks in who is a friend of my ex’s and starts talking about how he’s heard we’re going to get back together. And that was not the case. So I start telling them the story: break up, get back together, break up, get back together – just, ugh, the worst! And I picked up the guitar and [songwriting partner Max Martin] said, ‘This is what we’re writing.’
She also added that the song is a “really, really romantic song to my lovely ex-boyfriend.”
Uh, doubt it.
