It’s not every day that a news reporter is busted for growing pot. Seems like a strange side job for a successful guy, doesn’t it? But that is exactly what happened to poor CBS Radio News correspondent Howard Arenstein along with his wife, Orly Azoulay, in Washington, DC.

This all went down Saturday morning after someone tipped off the cops. Washington, DC police spokesman Lt. Nicholas Breul said the pair were arrested on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Upon searching the home, eleven fully mature marijuana plants and six two-ounce bags of marijuana were discovered inside. Authorities say each plant equals one pound of marijuana.

Who grows marijuana in their backyard these days in metropolitan Washington, DC? Way to be subtle, Howard! I bet you never thought you’d be in the news for this.

Robert Edwards Wins 2010 Nobel Prize For In-Vitro

The 2010 Nobel Prize in medicine was announced Monday and goes to Robert Edwards of Britain who developed in-vitro fertilization back in the 1970′s. The controversial scientific breakthrough was not immediately welcomed with open arms but has gone on to become a godsend for millions of infertile couples.

The 85-year-old Robert Edwards is a professor emeritus at the University of Cambridge and began working on in-vitro fertilization in the 1950′s. The technique allows egg cells to be fertilized outside the woman’s body and then implanted in her uterus. Edwards developed the technique with colleague Patrick Steptoe, who passed away in 1988.

The world’s first baby to be born using in-vitro fertilization entered the world on July 25, 1978 in Britain. Her name is Louise Brown and her birth marked a new day in the way the world viewed fertility treatment. In 2007 the 32-year-old mother gave birth to a naturally conceived son named Cameron, and she currently lives in the English sea town of Bristol.

When you look at the odds, IVF ranks right up there with conceiving naturally. A couple’s chance of conceiving naturally after one cycle of IVF is 1 in 5.

A bench warrant has been issued for Lindsay Lohan after she tested positive for drugs.

Again? Really?

Officials are for some reason still treating this train wreck who hasn’t made a good film since 2004 like she’s Hollywood royalty, though, and didn’t immediately arrest her and throw her in the clink. Beverly Hills judge Eldon Fox is waiting until at least Friday to decide whether America’s Worst Role Model actually violated her probation. Um, where did this judge go to Judge School? I’m no lawyer, but I think that, yes, if you are on probation for excessive drug use and then test positive for said drugs, you indeed violated your probation. Is Judge Fox a secret Mean Girls fan or something?
