‘Blue Valentine’ Gets Hit With NC-17 Rating

(4 votes, average: 4.75 out of 5)

The new film Blue Valentine starring Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling was slapped with an NC-17 rating by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA). An NC-17 rating means no one under 17 is admitted unlike an R rating where minors are admitted with a parent or guardian. An NC-17 rating, in most cases, means the film is a stone’s throw away from porn.

Blue Valentine is an American film from writer/director Derek Cianfrance that was shot in Scranton, Pennsylvania. It focuses on the relationship between Dean, a working class guy going nowhere and Cindy, a college student. The film has an NC-17 rating due to drunken sex scenes at a motel. So if you want to check out Blue Valentine before the MPAA trims those scenes down, check your local listings now!

If you’re curious about other films that have an NC-17 rating, read on…
