Kaitlyn Hunt is an 18-year-old Florida teenager — a pretty girl from Indian River County. Yet Hunt’s face is splashed across national news outlets for serious crimes committed against a minor: Hunt is accused of maintaining an unlawful sexual relationship with a 14-year-old classmate.

Kaitlyn Hunt could spend up to 15 years in a Florida jail if she’s convicted.  And despite the media firestorm, prosecutors remain firm that Kaitlyn Hunt deserves to be charged and punished for her actions.  Yet others disagree for the basic reason that both parties were female. They wonder: Is Hunt being charged because she’s gay? Read More

During a commercial break in a debate with Florida gubernatorial candidate Rick Scott Monday night, Democrat Alex Sink received a text message from an aide.

While Sink said the text message didn’t help her cause during the debate, it could have violated debate rules and, thus, she fired her senior adviser, Brian May; he of the shifty fingers.

Sink’s campaign had said Monday night that May had been let go after he sent a text message during a break in the debate to Sink via her makeup artist. Tuesday, Sink said she couldn’t really tell much about what the text message was trying to say to her, but realized it could be a violation

of rules on information sharing that the campaigns had agreed to before the debate, according to the Orlando Sentinel. Read More

Ever hear of VersaEmerge? If not, you’re not alone. Before VersaEmerge appeared on the MTV show World of Jenks last night, the band was relatively unknown but this morning, VersaEmerge is the #1 search on Google.

World of Jenks premiered back in September and is a documentary series featuring filmmaker Andrew Jenks. They go around the United States and follow the lives of inspirational people showing what it’s like to live in their shoes for one week. Last night’s episode was all about the band VersaEmerge, hailing from Port St. Lucie, Florida, and the lead singer Sierra Kusterbeck. The group is on the Fueled By Ramen record label and to date, VersaEmerge has put out 3 EP’s, the latest of which dropped June 22nd and is called Fixed at Zero.

So what do they sound like? VersaEmerge sounds like a mix of Paramore/Evanescence with singer Sierra Kusterbeck sporting that rock/goth image. The band took their name from the word “versa”, which means opposite and “emerge,” which means to rise or come into view. They’re definitely being seen now and will tour this fall.

Ah, the unstable ex-boyfriend or girlfriend. Truly a one-of-a-kind animal when unleashed in the right environment. Unreasonable, wide-eyed and with one mission: to destroy the happiness of their ex.

Ex-Jaguars wide receiver Kassim Osgood knows this all too well.

Osgood was at a 19-year-old woman’s house in Jacksonville on Monday afternoon when an intruder, allegedly the teen’s ex-boyfriend, entered the home, reported the Florida Times-Union.

Osgood and Mackenzie Rae Putnal, a Jaguars Cheerleader, were on the second floor of a residence watching TV when a man with a plastic bag on his face pointed a gun at them. Apparently some home invaders don’t value breathing. Just sayin’.
