Everyone’s favorite former New York Giant Plaxico Burress was released from prison today after serving out a 22 month term for a weapons violation that came about after he shot himself in the leg at a New York City nightclub in the summer of 2009. The wide-receiver was greeted by family and friends and is planning on heading to Florida to be with family.

Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback Tony Romo broke his clavicle during last night’s 41-35 loss to the New York Giants. Cowboys fans should just seriously focus on the World Series right now.
The break happened in the second quarter after the celebrity dating quarterback delivered a pass and was hit hard.

Indianapolis Colts’ 23-year-old punter, Pat McAfee, was arrested for public intoxication after making the wise decision to take a swim in a downtown canal at around 6 a.m.
Police said McAfee had a BAC of 0.15% when they arrested him for swimming in the canal, which is near Indianapolis’ nightlife district. (Who knew they had one?)
McAfee is probably going to get beat up by his teammates today. Just sayin.

New England Patriot Brandon Meriweather is facing suspension for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Baltimore Raven Todd Heap on Sunday. Why? Well, not only was it pretty clear Meriweather led with his helmet, but he also doesn’t seem to think that he did anything wrong.
The NFL is listening, Brandon, so speak up.
Meriweather didn’t say a word to reporters after the game, but sure opened up during a WEEI radio appearance.
