Is portable gaming your thing? If so, there’s good news. Sony Corp. significantly cut the Japan price of the PSP Go just in time for the holiday season and prices in the US will be following suit. In the gaming industry, it’s common for manufacturers to slash prices this time of year because they pull in over half their sales in these winter months.
The Playstation Portable Go, PSP Go for short, was released October 1, 2009, and faces major competition from Nintendo Co. who puts out the DS machines not to mention home consoles such as the Wii and Playstation 3. And what about those people that would rather play games on their iPhone? It is no surprise that the PSP Go hasn’t been selling that well both in Japan and the US.
A Sacramento mall fire had firefighters working overtime yesterday as they battled a blaze resulting from a police standoff. The Westfield Galleria in Roseville, California, went up in flames at the worst possible time–right before the holiday season.
The galleria mall fire mess started mid-morning Thursday at GameStop after a man claiming to have a gun set foot inside the store and told employees to leave. According to police, he locked himself inside the store and started the fire. Roseville Police Lieutenant Mike Doane said:
‘He was saying stuff about his family. The staff from GameStop was saying he was more or less incoherent.’ When the SWAT team arrested him, he was hiding outside the store without a weapon.

Cleveland is weird. More evidence of this is in Sweetest Day, which is celebrated today throughout the Great Lakes region and originated in the city.
Apparently, on Sweetest Day, your supposed to give chocolate to the homeless. Seems really productive.
(Oh yeah that Garfield GIF is awesome, I know.)
The holiday was begun in 1922 by a regular citizen, Herbert Birch Kingston, who wanted to do something nice for the city’s less fortunate residents. He gathered up pounds of chocolates and, with the aid of film stars Theda Bara and Ann Pennington, delivered boxes of candy to Cleveland area newsboys, orphanages, and hospitals. Via About.com
When I was a kid I was always miffed that there was Mother’s Day and Father’s Day and there wasn’t a Kids Are Awesome Day where you could pour as much sugar on your cereal as you wanted.
So, BOSSES get a day? Last time I checked (which was never) I didn’t see any National Employee Appreciation Day.
Well, to refresh, in 1492, Columbus sailed the ocean blue (and was probably a jerk to a lot of his crew).
If you’re interested the complete poem is here and, wow, it’s kinda long and weird. Stuff about snoring and whatever. Go ahead, read it, I’ll wait…
