Phillip Phillips was crowned the new “American Idol” on Wednesday after beating out Jessica Sanchez.
Phillips, 21, who before Idol fame, used to work in a pawn shop, hails from Leesburg, Ga. Even though his bluesy sound won over America, he still looked stunned as host Ryan Seacrest announced him a winner.
